Why Spay or Neuter Your Pets? * Spaying and neutering the animals in your life is one of the most important things that you can do for them.
* 'Fixing' your pets has multiple benefits including decreased chances of certain forms of cancer and the elimination of certain health issues common to unspayed/neutered animals. * A 'fixed' animal does not contribute to the critical companion animal overpopulation issue. * A single unspayed female dog or cat can be responsible for thousands of kittens/puppies in her lifetime. A startling 80% of those kittens/puppies will end up in a shelter at some point in their lives. * The world that we live in is currently in a crisis state when it comes to companion animal overpopulation. 11 million dogs & cats are euthanized every year in America's shelters, and 90% of all animals who enter into a shelter are euthanized. * Majority of animals euthanized in shelters are healthy, happy, young, and often times purebred animals. They have done nothing wrong other than simply being born. * In California, chihuahuas & pitbulls are the most overbred breeds of dogs and because of this, they are also the hardest to find good homes for. These dogs fill California shelters and most never make it out. * Spaying/neutering does not have to be a huge expense. As an animal rescue organization, we are left to the heartwrenching task of attempting to save as many lives as possible. We routinely visit California animal shelters to make the horrible decisions as to which animals that we can find homes for, this means that we also must look into the many faces of those that we have to leave behind. We believe that spaying & neutering companion animals is the key to lessening the needless suffering & death of so many creatures. As the dominant species, it is our responsibility as people to treat those in our care with respect and responsibility. The overpopulation of our animals is no one's fault but our own and we ask that everyone who cares for an animal assist us in cleaning up the mess that we as people have allowed to occur and get your pets spayed/neutered.
