Fostering-To-Adopt

* It can last from one week to several weeks depending on each animal's needs and every individual situation.
* Only approved adopters will be offered to enter into this kind of situation and an adoption deposit is required in order for us to 'hold' the animal for you.
* The animal will remain our responsibility until the adoption has been completed.
* You will need to be prepared to transport the animal back to us for spay/neuter if needed.
* Please see our foster-to-adopt contract below for detailed information!

Foster To Adopt Agreement
Fostering with the intention of adopting an animal is a special situation. It is NOT an adoption or a routine foster care agreement. This agreement between yourself & There's No Place Like Home allows the animal that you wish to adopt to live with you before the adoption is finalized. Usually, this is done when the animal has not yet been spayed/neutered or has not yet been deemed adoptable for any reason. It means that the animal belongs to There's No Place Like Home NOT yourself until the adoption has been finalized and all proper paperwork has been agrred upon. You are fostering with the intent of adopting adopting this animal in the future. The animal will remain on hold/unavailable to other potential adopters, and the adoption will remain pending until the animal is spayed/neutered or otherwise, and the process has been completed.
In order to place an animal on hold, we will ask for a deposit of the full adoption fee in advance which we also be held until the adoption is final. Once the animal has been spayed/neutered, and/or become available for official adoption and the adoption agreement has been completed , then and only then will the animal belong to you. All medical needs after official adoption are then your responsibility at the veterinary hospital of your choice.
We will continue to be in contact with you periodically to check in on the animal and to ensure his/her well being. If you fail to return our emails or calls in a timely manner, we may consider this contract to have been breached. Other reasons that we may consider this contract to be breached are:
* If you seek veterinary care without our consent, including vaccinations, exams, prescriptions, etc...
* If you avoid contact with us, or fail to return calls or emails in a timely manner.
* If you voluntarily lose possession of the animal, such as 'giving' him/her away or allowing the animal to stay in another home.
* If we discover that you are intending to adopt the animal for someone other than yourself.
* If you allow the animal to become lost, sick, or injured due to negligence on your part.
* If we feel that the animal is in any kind of danger.
Because the animal is not yours, there are restrictions:
* You may not take the animal to a veterinary hospital without authorization by There's No Place Like Home. We must be notified of any medical concern asap. Also, you may NOT contact the veterinary hospitals used by the organization regarding any animal cared for by There's No Place Like Home. The veterinary hospitals volunteer their services to us and our records are released and addressed to members of the organization only. We cannot risk losing our veterinary priviledges by allowing the hospitals to be tied up dealing with our fosters rather than their own clients.
* All veterinary care will be arranged by There's No Place Like Home. All vaccinations, dewormings, etc will be arranged by our organization up until the date of adoption. We WILL notify you of these dates and your foster animal's needs. His/her medical needs are not your concern at this point. We appreciate your understanding of this.
* There's No Place Like Home will be contact with you on at least a weekly basis up until adoption when our contact will be limited. As a foster parent, routine contact with us is unavoidable.
* When it comes to scheduling dates & times for our animals veterinary care etc, we do ask that you realize it is a waiting game. We are unable to gaurentee any time frame for surgery dates due to the fact that it is 100% dependant on the veterinarians schedule ehich we cannot predict. We do our absolute best to arrange spay/neuters in a timely manner but we do ask that you are able to remain patient and understanding during this process as it may take several weeks to complete.
If you are unable to complywith any of the above mentioned terms, please refrain from signing this contract and reconsider fostering with the intention of adopting.
